Brandon McGee, a 6-foot-7 forward who played in 17 games as a freshman at Indiana last season, is in the process of transferring to Auburn.

Auburn sources told AuburnUndercover.com that McGee visited the Auburn campus and plans to join Jeff Lebo’s program. Under NCAA rules, he will have to sit out next season.

McGee, a high school standout at Crane Tech in the Chicago Public League, was part of an exodus of players from the Indiana program after Kelvin Sampson was fired and replaced by Tom Crean.

Crean announced in May that McGee had been dismissed from the team, leaving only three players on the roster from last season.

"Our coaching and support staff tried to make this work out, but we felt that there were some basic standard operating procedures that were not being met," Crean said in a statement at the time.

McGee averaged 1.5 points and 1 rebound per game last season. When he signed with Indiana, McGee was rated the nation’s No. 14 power forward by ESPN.

As a high school senior, he averaged 21 points, 12 rebounds and four assists as a senior per game,
