Auburn defensive end commitment Joel Bonomolo has not played in Fullerton (Calif.) College's last two games because of a dislocated shoulder.

Bonomolo, 6-foot-3 and 245 pounds, dislocated his shoulder in Fullerton's 30-17 win over Grossmont College on Oct. 17. He has not played since the injury and will not play this week against Long Beach City College.

“I was just playing and I went to make a tackle and dislocated it,” Bonomolo told us. “But I am getting better and I will be ready for the playoffs.”

Fullerton is 4-0 in National Southern Conference play, and Bonomolo said the team is trying to do better than last season. Fullerton lost 34-27 in the SoCal Championship semifinals last season.

“We are playing some good football,” Bonomolo said. “We are undefeated in the conference and we are trying to get that state championship.”

Bonomolo said he plans to be in Auburn for the Iron Bowl Nov. 27, but he will not be in town if Fullerton is still playing for that state title.

“I plan on coming after the season for an official visit if I can't make it for the Iron Bowl,” he said. “I can't wait to finish up here and get to Auburn.”
