Savage gets sixth year of eligibility from NCAA

AUBURN - As reported by AuburnUndercover.com last week, Auburn defensive back Aairon Savage has been granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA.
Savage missed the 2008 and 2009 seasons with injuries. A native of Albany, Ga., he played in 2006 and 2007, earning Freshman As a sophomore, he made 26 tackles while playing in seven games.
“We’re very happy for Aairon that he has received a sixth year of eligibility,” Auburn coach Gene Chizik said. “The last few years have been difficult for him, but Aairon has worked extremely hard and shown a tremendous amount of determination to get to where he is today. We look forward to seeing him in an Auburn uniform this fall.”
Savage graduated in December 2008 with a degree in exercise science and
is currently pursuing a graduate degree.
Auburn opens the 2010 season on Sept. 4 against Arkansas State in
Jordan-Hare Stadium.
